Handbells The Handbell Choir at North Cross is open to anyone (youth group age or older) who wants to make music to praise God. You don't even have to carry a tune! The only requirement is that you be able to listen to instructions, watch, and be able to have just a little fun! (or a lot of fun!) The Youth Handbells practice on Sundays from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and the Adult's practice Sundays from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. That's why we're called the "Sanctuary Bells!" We usually play for Sunday morning services about once per month (for the 8:30 service) Our rehearsals are always open for anyone to come and listen! If you have any questions about any of these groups, please call the church office, or Steve Lindsay @ 816-459-7119. Handbell Director: Steve Lindsay
Steve Lindsay was born and raised in Liberty, MO. He received a bachelors degree in Music in 1981 from William Jewell College. Currently Steve is employed at Mobilfone where he is in charge of equipment distribution. Joining North Cross in 1979, he began directing the handbell choir at the church when, in 1985, he discovered a set of handbells hidden in the choir room. Since 1985, handbell choirs at North Cross have attended and performed at handbell conventions in Emporia, KS, Tulsa, OK, St. Louis, MO, and Nashville, TN. Steve’s wife, Peggy, and their children, Stephanie and Danny are also active in the life of North Cross. |
