Chancel Choir and Director Gerald Valet
Gerald Valet, Director of Music
Jerry has been involved in church music all of his life. Singing in church choir as a youth in Iowa, he attended college at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO, graduating with both a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Arts in Music. Since college, Jerry has been involved in secondary music education,
community choruses, pageants, music organizations, and church music. He served for
15 years as the Chancel Choir director at First Presbyterian Church in Mexico, MO.
After moving to Kansas City, he served as Director of Music for ten years at First
Presbyterian Church in North Kansas City, MO. Currently, he serves as Director of
Music at North Cross United Methodist Church, and director of the Chancel Choir. In
addition, he is the director of the Northland Community Choir. His full time
position is Assistant Director of Admissions at Kansas City Art Institute. Organist Lenora Remmert
Lenora Remmert has been at North Cross since September, 1997, with 15 years of church
organ experience. She is very proud to play on such a fine instrument and accompany
the inspiring Chancel Choir. Lenora has a Bachelor in Music Performance from UMKC
Conservatory of Music and often works as a music director for area theater productions.
She makes her home in the northland with her husband, Ken, and teenage son,
